The commercial viability of panels is 15 years. At this point they still generate energy but not enough to make them commercial viable for our investors requirements. At this point the body corporate sinking fund pays for the replacement of the panels.
All the electricity generated goes into the National Grid. Some is sold at a wholesale, some is sold to contracted commercial and industrial clients some is sold into the network.
All the electricity generated goes is stored in the batteries that act like a dam holding back the the bulk of wanter till it is needed. However, when the batteries are full, like the spill way on a dam, the energy is released into the network for all to access. There are time during each day when more capacity is required. At this point, the energy stored in the batteries is released too. This normally occurs at peak times which also dovetails with the higher prices for the energy.
The farm itself with regular maintenance and new panels will last for a minimum of 15 + 15 year with the upgrade of the panels as mentioned above.
